Brand Identity
BRIEF
Self-taught Finnish artist Susanna Tuomaala, also known as WrongsideArt to her 50k followers got in touch requiring a brand identity for her work. Launched in 2019, this identity uses typography set by me with illustration provided by the artist herself.

APPROACH
As Susanna works exclusively with ink and listening to metal music whilst doing so, I wanted to highlight this key medium within the identity.
I created ink droplets dropping from the ‘A’ within the logotype, indicating the medium. The type works with a gothic style scripted typeface commonly seen in metal band lock-ups, whilst also sticking with her signature black and white style.
HOW DID I HAVE IMPACT?
By collaborating with the artist we were able to arrive at a strong logomark which works across key channels such as the e-commerce website (details further down the page) and Instagram.
E-commerce Set-up
BRIEF
As the artist had mostly sold prints through word of mouth, local markets and via other means, I was asked to set-up an online store for all the products.
We decided upon using Shopify and its basic theme to build the online store.
APPROACH
Initially all prints and original artworks were housed in the website, however the artist had secured a deal on an American website, so the navigation reflected this. All original artwork remains in the store.
As her large following on social media were largely American fans, this meant all content had to be translated. The copy was translated from Finnish to English by Minna Högbacka and brought into the site.
HOW DID I HAVE IMPACT?
1) Complete Shopify set-up including product inventory, watermarking all artist imagery and creating a small website to showcase original artwork, an about page and a commissions page for enquiries.
2) Banner designs by me using original artwork from the artist.
3) Domain and hosting connection to Shopify by me, and the management of Shopify back-end.
